The Lord is my Shepherd. Goodness and mercy follow me. Wherever the Shepherd leads me, I must follow. I leave a trail of footprints behind me. What I do in life has consequences, leaves a memory and changes people I encounter. Just as others leave their mark on me and cause me to change, I affect those I encounter. Shepherd, my sphere of influence is always changing the world around me. What are the footprints of my life? When I pass by – what do people remember about me? Have goodness and mercy been some of the footprints of my life? Can others follow the trail of my footprints and find You? Surely goodness, mercy and a desire to love and follow You are clear footprints I leave. I wonder though, how clear are my footprints?

Have most of my footprints been covered over by the ravages of time and life? Are any of my footprints worth saving? Will one of my works live on and influence positive change in the life of others? It is difficult to disguise or erase a trail of footprints from a tracker intent on following, but the rest of us need clear footprints. Help me leave good, clear prints for others to follow and find You.

“So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.” Colossians 1:9, 10 (NLT)

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Psalm 37:23, 24 (NLT)
