In the heart of Tawa, The Salvation Army’s Community Ministries team has partnered with Women of Worth to launch Know Your Worth—a transformative programme designed to help women reclaim their identity, build resilience, and embrace their inherent value.

Held on Tuesday evenings, the course brings together a diverse group of thirteen women, aged 17 to 63, in a safe, supportive space. Together, they explore how to reshape their inner dialogue, nurture emotional well-being, and envision a life of purpose and joy.

“What a privilege it is to witness an intergenerational group of women listening to and supporting each other,” says Vanessa Evetts, Community Ministries Navigator and Programme Facilitator. “They share their stories with honesty and courage, creating a space that is both healing and empowering.”

Founded 13 years ago, Women of Worth is rooted in the belief that a woman’s value is intrinsic, unchangeable, infinite, and beyond comparison. The programme encourages participants to anchor themselves in this truth, especially during life’s storms. While grounded in faith, it is accessible to women from all backgrounds and has been adapted for teens and children, offering life-changing resources for communities everywhere.

Now, three weeks into the course, the impact is already palpable. “When women realise how much they are worth,” says Evetts, “they begin to fight for the lives they deserve and inspire others to do the same.”

Women of Worth is more than a programme; it’s a movement of women rising together, rewriting their stories, and shaping a legacy of strength for generations to come.
