Easter Message from Commissioner Sue Swanson

I want to be an Easter morning woman!

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary knew that Jesus had been crucified; they stood at a distance and watched the horrible events.   But they refused to leave Jesus, even in the seeming finality of His death.  They came to bring Him honour.  I, too, bring Him honour.

I want to experience, like them, the awe of knowing that He is not in the grave.   He has risen and I will see Him.  Life can be frightening but Christ brings me peace and eternity.

‘And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them.’  I want to experience once again, this season, the joy of meeting Jesus on a daily, joyful, Easter-filled basis.  He is ready to meet with me in his resurrected loving self.

Mary and Mary had the first experience.  But Jesus offers the same miraculous reality for each one of us.  Come to Him, see His risen life, don’t be afraid and share the joy with others.

May you be an Easter morning woman…every day of the year.

Blessings to you.
