The Lord is my Shepherd. He is my Creator. “I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isaiah 46:3b, 4 (NLT)

When I was little I loved to be carried in the strong arms of an adult like my Dad, Mom, Papa, Grandma or Uncle. It gave me security and rest. After we were married my husband carried me “over the threshold” literally picking me up and carrying me over the doorstep of our new home together. Since I was about his same height and weight the carrying did not last long and was more fun and funny than secure.
Sometimes I get “carried away” by music, daydreams or even memories. I like the idea of God carrying me or carrying me along. Whether it be that He is leading me or picking me up in His strong arms, I rest in Him. He carries me.

I can burden myself with care, worry, idols – all things to carry, to weigh me down and slow up my journey. He asks me to cast down – throw away my burdens. Cast my cares on Him and let Him carry them. The Lord is my Shepherd, my Care taker and Care giver. He carries me and cares for me. Isaiah 46
