A vision for empowering women
Rosemarie Keen is the young adventure instructor at The Salvation Army Blue Mountain Adventure Centre who dreamed up Empower Women's Adventure Camp. She observed that on mixed-group camps, women would sometimes miss out on the full experience of the outdoors because they would be too busy volunteering to do the bulk of the cooking or childcare or clean up!
Rose's hope is that women who come to Empower will discover the strength and resolve they never knew they had, spiritually and physically. Read more from Rose Keen and her testimony here.
Northern Division #SupportHers Project gets women to Empower
The Salvation Army Northern Division Women's Ministries is joining in the empowering experience by fundraising to send women from Epsom Lodge, Auckland and Northland-based Recovery Churches to Empower Women's Adventure Camp! Divisional Director of Women's Ministries Major Liz Gainsford has challenged the Division to 'show her she's got an army of supporters' and is excited about the opportunity for their women to spend their time at the camp with other Salvationists.
